Warning To All Those Who Use Different Bible Versions

by David J. Stewart | July 2019

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” —Matthew 12:31-32

When you use a Bible (and there are some 100 of them now) which is not the King James Bible, for instance the NIV (New International Version), MEV (Modern English Version), NKJV (New King James Version), ESV (English Standard Version) et cetera, you are using a bible which does at least one of the following:

This is not an exhaustive list, but examples. Have you been deceived? Only the inspired King James Bible can be trusted.

Why is This Such a Big Deal?

It is such a big deal because, not only are people being mislead as Jesus said in the Scripture at the top of this page, but also those who blaspheme against the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit) are at risk of going to Hell.

When we amend, edit, et cetera, the Words of God (the Holy Bible), we run the risk of changing what the Holy Spirit has said. There's a very specific warning concerning this sin in Revelation:

“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” —Revelation 22:19

The Holy Bible was written under the influence of the Holy Spirit:

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were  moved by the Holy Ghost.” —2nd Peter 1:20-21

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” —2nd Timothy 3:16

My advice, on using different Bibles (which all say different things—amended for political correctness, gender neutrality, taken from different Greek/Hebrew texts; words changed, added to, subtracted from) is to be very careful. It's not good to take away or change what anyone says, especially the Holy Ghost Who authored the Holy Bible. In Revelation 19:10b and 13 we read, “for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. ... And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” When you mess with the Bible, you are messing with the Son of God, because John 5:39 says: “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” Since the Scriptures testify all about Jesus, to change the meaning of the Bible is to alter and change how a person views the Son of God! For example...

The Corruption of John 20:17 in the Modern Versions

One of the most important doctrines in the Bible is the blood of Jesus' applied to the Mercy Seat in Heaven. We are plainly told that the Old Testament tabernacle and all contained therein was a shadow, a type, of the real one in Heaven. Hebrews 8:5, “Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” And again we read in Hebrews 9:11-12, “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” It is clear to any honest Bible student that Christ entered BY HIS OWN BLOOD into the heavenly Holy Place to appear in the presence of God the Father (Hebrews 9:24).

This is fundamental Bible doctrine. Before Jesus sprinkled His blood (Hebrews 12:24) on the heavenly Mercy Seat, He could not be touched, lest the blood sacrifice be tainted and ruined. This is why the Lord warned Mary Magdalene NOT TO TOUCH HIM after He resurrected the third day...

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — John 20:17, “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” [emphasis added]

Now read what the wicked Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) says:

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — John 20:17, “Jesus said to her, “You don’t need to hold on to me! I have not yet gone back up to the Father. But go to my followers and tell them this: ‘I am going back to my Father and your Father. I am going back to my God and your God.’” [emphasis added]

Now read what the wicked New International Version (NIV) says:

NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) — John 20:17, “Jesus said, Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

If there is any doubt of what I say, check out “THE GOSPEL OF JOHN” movie, in which Mary Magdalene grabs onto Jesus' hand, and then He rebukes her, telling her “DO NOT HOLD ON TO ME.” That is not what the King James Bible says! The Bible says: “TOUCH ME NOT”! That is blasphemy! Mary absolutely could not have touched Jesus until he went to the Father first, to sprinkle His literal physical blood upon the sacred Mercy Seat, to appease the wrath of God against sinners (Hebrews 9:22-24). The Bible is very clear throughout the book of Hebrews, that Christ's blood needed to be applied to the heavenly Mercy Seat, located in the Holy Place within the innermost courtyard of the tabernacle in Heaven. Jesus Christ is our heavenly High Priest according to Hebrews 4:14-16 and Romans 8:34).

Here we have seen just one of literally THOUSANDS of subtle changes to the inspired Words of God in the modern Bible versions. Don't let Satan fool you! Revelation 12:9, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” The Devil is deceiving everyone with counterfeit Bible versions—which distort the image of Christ, corrupt the meaning of repentance and salvation, and lead people away from the doctrine of Christ by secularizing the Bible! Satan is behind it all!

Satan is a Subtle Deceiver

It may seem subtle to you dear reader, but Satan is subtle, and by merely changing a word or two, the entire meaning of something can be completely changed. Carefully compare and contrast the following two passages of Scripture, to see how subtle the Devil is...

Genesis 2:16-17, “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Genesis 3:1, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

God said Adam and Eve could eat of every tree except ONE; but the serpent misquoted God as saying they couldn't eat from any of the trees. The Devil was magnifying Eve's restrictions to stir her up, making her think she was a victim instead of blessed. That is exactly what Satan does to us today—getting us to think about how bad we have it in life, instead of seeing how blessed we are by God. Consequently, Eve disobeyed God fueled by her wrong thinking. Once we start thinking wrong as God's children, we are headed down a path to needless complications in our life! The believer's proper mindset is that God is always good (Psalm 145:9), and we are blessed by God (Psalm 68:19), and we ought to obey God's Word at all times (Psalm 62:8), and we are commanded to love God and our neighbour as our self (Matthew 22:36-39).

How Truth is Commonly Perverted into a Lie

The lost world looks at all the pain, misery and death in the world and blames God, putting Him on trial for knowing that He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing) and omni-present (all present), yet seems to do nothing about suffering and pain. Oh my friend, God is a good God. It was Adam's sin that allowed sin and death into the world (Romans 5:12). The serpent (Satan, Revelation 20:2) lied to Eve. It was a classic lie that involved wrapping a lie between two truths.

Genesis 3:3-5, “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” In the preceding helpful key passage of Holy Scripture, there are TWO truths, and ONE lie. It was true that Eve's eyes would be opened. It was also true that she would become “a god,” in the sense of knowing good and evil. Yet, the big lie was that they wouldn't die. When Eve finally ate the forbidden fruit, she didn't drop dead that day. Had God lied, Who said they would die that very day? Adam and Eve lived hundreds more years. But truthfully, they did die immediately when they sinned, spiritually.

In typical, crooked, used-car salesman, fashion, Satan promised Eve a better life where she would become as her own god, free to do as she pleased, knowing good from evil, and live forever. All she had to do was eat of the forbidden fruit which God warned them not to eat. When Eve found out she had been conned, she was horrified, discovering that she hadn't become equal with God at all; but rather, was now merely her own boss, with a freewill to do whatever she wanted (and to pay the price if she made the wrong choices). Eve found out the hard way that the serpent lied to her about not dying. It was a half-truth, a shady deal. Companies are infamous these days for this type of shady advertising. Politicians lie all the time. The newsmedia lies every day.

Although it was true that Eve didn't die that very day physically, she and Adam did die spiritually the moment they sinned. Consequently, they were ejected from the Garden of Eden permanently, never to return again. Whereas God has previously provided good meals for Adam and Eve to eat freely, without having to work for anything—now they had to labor in the sweat of their brow, toil long hours by sowing and harvesting crops, and endure the constant pricking of their fingers with the thorns of the plants of the earth, et cetera. Literally, Adam and Eve lost everything!!! It was Paradise lost, all because the Devil painted a rosy-picture of what sin could do to make Eve's life better and empower her. Sound familiar with the foolish hype from feminists today? It's the same Devil but a different generation. When will we ever learn as humans? The Devil's an old pro, because he's been doing this for a very long time.

Satan's favorite tactic to deceive people is to hide a LIE between two TRUTHS! This is why all pseudo-Christian cults (e.g., Seventh-day Adventism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, Roman Catholicism, Church of Christ, Lutheranism and Christian Science) mix their lies with Christian lingo, making it difficult for unlearned people to decipher and expose. As Christians, it is our duty to refute all works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11).

I wonder if people really consider the gravity and the importance of God's word. When the King James Bible translators translated the Holy Bible, if there were words that could mean something else, or were put in to make it easier to read in the English language, they were inserted in italics, as you'll see from the above scriptures. They knew full well about the warning in Revelations and tampering with the word of God, so they were very careful to be as accurate as possible. The same cannot be said for translators today, given the sheer volume of available and constantly updated versions, all with different heresies.
