Could The King James Bible Have Been Better Translated?

By David J. Stewart | January 2016

Psalms 12:6-7, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

God PROMISED in Psalms 12:6-7 to preserve His pure words unto every generation. That means somewhere in this world today in 2016 we have the holy, perfect, inspired, inerrant, infallible, preserved, Words of God. I believe God has kept His promise by preserving His words in the King James Bible for the English-speaking people. It is estimated that as the world's primary language today, approximately 1,500,000,000 people speak English.[1] God knew what He was doing when He gave us the King James Bible.

There is no argument that America was built upon the King James Bible—back when we were an honest nation with integrity, and people paid their debts, when people cared, and marriages survived, and preachers stood!!!

What promoted me to write this article was hearing Dr. Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a man of God whom I admire dearly and whose sermons I will continue to promote, criticize the King James Bible. Thank God for the doctrinally sound position on salvation of Florida Bible College, and it's founder Dr. Ralph Yankee Arnold, whom I also dearly admire. I love those men in the Lord! I have tremendous admiration for the Florida Bible College, without whose influence Michael P. Bowen never would have wrote his awesome book, “I NEVER KNEW YOU.” I read in Michael's book the other day that he was greatly influenced by Dr. Hank Lindstrom's sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?” To my delight, I found the sermon online, downloaded it, and immediately shared it with all my web visitors. It's a beautiful sermon that presents the Gospel so simple, just the way God intended the plan of salvation to be! I hope you'll take the time to hear the sermon, you will be glad that you did.

Perhaps you ask why I would promote men who teach that the King James Bible is flawed. My friend, Dr. Jack Hyles is my hero of the Christian faith, yet Brother Hyles himself used to correct the King James Bible and allege flaws in it. But then Dr. Hyles realized what the Devil was doing, shaking people's faith in the Word of God, and he changed his position on the King James Bible. Thank God for godly men like Dr. Al Lacy, who saw the truth long before most other preachers, exposing the modern corrupt Bible versions and defending the inspired King James Bible. I love Dr. Lacy's excellent book, “NIV: THE ANTICHRIST'S BIBLE.”

So, having said that, I want my web visitors to know where I stand on the matter. Clearly, there are many differing opinions between fundamental Bible-believing Christians. Either the King James Bible is perfect in every way, or it contains errors, or it doesn't contain any errors but could have been translated better. You'll find all of these various viewpoints in churches today. Personally, I find no fault in the King James Bible and I think it is without error or need of improvement. That is what I believe. Like I said, I love and admire the Florida Bible College, but I disagree with them that the King James Bible could have been translated better. I mean, if the King James Bible wasn't translated as good as it could have been, and is causing people to misunderstand God's Word, THEN EFFECTIVELY WE CANNOT TRUST THE KING JAMES BIBLE. I have a serious problem with instilling that kind of doubt into people's minds. I never would have thought there was anything wrong with the King James Bible unless I heard some preacher say it.

It frustrates me as a Christian when I hear preachers say that the King James Bible is God's Word, but this is wrong with it, and that should have been translated better, and this is a horrible mistranslation, et cetera. It makes me want to throw my Bible in the garbage. And please notice, not one of the preachers who criticize the King James Bible will tell you which Bible is God's Word, which one you can trust. The truth is that they DON'T believe we have a perfect English Bible translation today. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 (quoting Deuteronomy 8:3) that we ought to live by every Word of God. That means we need an EVERY WORD Bible!!! Matthew 4:4, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If we don't have a reliable, perfect, inerrant, inspired, infallible, holy Bible in the English speaking language, then we are in a heap of big trouble! We all need to learn Koine Greek.

I believe the originals were inspired, but I also believe that any translation (if done accurately) is inspired, because God's Words are inspired! I totally disagree that inspiration only refers to the process of God breathing out His Words to the original writers. God's Word existed in Heaven before God ever gave them to man. Psalms 119:89, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” The last word of Revelation existed in Heaven before the first word of Genesis was given to Moses. God's Words are inspired. The common belief today, which nearly every Bible college has adopted, is that only the original autographs are inspired, and at best we have a flawed English Bible that is tainted by the translator's frailty and humanity. That makes no sense. Why would God give His perfect, very pure, inspired, words to mankind, promise to preserve those words unto every generation, and then leave us at the mercy of translators?

“I'd rather be a prostitute, or one who sells prostitutes, at the Judgment of Christ, than to be a professor who shakes the faith of young people.” —Dr. Jack Hyles (a quote from the sermon titled, “It Seemeth Right”)

The Apostle Peter Had Difficulty Understanding The Original Manuscripts

The Apostle Peter admitted that some of the Apostle Paul's writings were “hard to be understood.” Peter was speaking about THE ORIGINAL SCRIPTURES!!! 2nd Peter 3:16, “As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” Peter couldn't even understand the ORIGINALS. They were confusing to him. Peter knew better than assume that he knew what the Scriptures meant, when he really didn't know. That was a smart man! Only a fool boldly claims to understand what he doesn't understand! That's why God told us TO STUDY the Word (2nd Timothy 2:15), and to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (John 5:39). I find no fault in the King James Bible!!!

The preachers today who criticize the King James Bible (and again, I know some dear men of God who believe this, and I still promote their ministries), who tell us that if the 54 translators in 1603-1611 had done a better job on the King James Bible, people wouldn't be so confused today. But my friend, as I just evidenced to you concerning the Apostle Peter, he even had difficulty understanding the originals. THE ORIGINALS!!!

In other words, if God had intended for His Words to be easier to understand, then He would have made them easier to understand from the very beginning!!! With this truth in view, it ought to convince us that there is nothing wrong with the King James Bible. If you compare Scripture-with-Scripture, you will find the correct interpretation of the Holy Bible. So my opinion of the preachers who criticize the King James Bible is that they are simply expressing their personal OPINION. I respect that, sincerely. Ultimately, each of us as believers must decide what we accept or reject as THE TRUTH. I am not here to shove my beliefs down your throat. Nor is it my desire to indoctrinate you with my views. I am a preacher of the Gospel. I preach in cyberspace what I believe to be true.

To my knowledge, everything that I promote on my websites is truthful, otherwise I would remove it quickly. I am not claiming to be right about everything, because I am just a sinful and flawed human being (as are all men). The Bible says that it is “NOBLE” to verify what you learn. That's my advice to you. Don't believe what I say, check it for yourself, and you decide prayerfully. Let the Scriptures be your only authority. Acts 17:11, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

By the way, if you're a critic of King James ONLYism, you're in good company with unsaved reprobate Roman Catholics! (This video was produced by a devout, unsaved, Roman Catholic, who despises the King James Bible). Check and you'll see what I say is true, that the churches teaching the heresy of Lordship Salvation today are also using today's counterfeit Bible versions. You show me a church that preaches “the simplicity that is in Christ” and I'll guarantee you that they still use the good ole King James Bible.

Ultimately, You Must Decide What You Believe Concerning The King James Bible

I needed to write this article, to explain to my web visitors why I'm promoting the sermons of Dr. Hank Lindstrom and Pastor Ralph Yankee Arnold, since they correct the King James Bible. These are godly men, whom I cherish. I promote their sermons and will continue to do so, because they faithfully preach “the simplicity that is in Christ” and do an excellent job exposing the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation. I thank God for these men...

Dr. Hank Lindstrom

Dr. Ralph Yankee Arnold

There is so much information online and offline concerning which Bible version we can trust, which even after a lifetime of searching and studying, you would likely still be confused on the matter. What a big mess! The answer is very simple to me—which Bible version today uplifts the deity of Jesus Christ, contains the word “Godhead,” says people “worshipped” Jesus, and promotes the preeminence of Jesus Christ? The answer is ONLY the King James Bible!!! I find no fault in the King James Bible!!!

I firmly believe that God has kept His promise in Psalms 12:6-7 to preserve His Words, in the King James Bible of the English-speaking language, and I don't think we have an inferior translation. If God's Word is only perfect in the original Greek, then we're all hopelessly at the mercy of arrogant Greek scholars and shady Greek Lexicons. I was looking online at Florida Bible College, to see if they expose the new corrupt Bible versions which redefine repentance and thereby corrupt the plan of salvation. I couldn't find anything, but perhaps I am missing something. Why criticize the King James Bible, but not the satanic counterfeit Bible versions in the churches today? That doesn't make sense. This is just my honest observation. I'm not throwing rocks at Florida Bible College; but rather, I'm just letting my web visitors know where I stand on the King James Bible issue. It is important!!!

I'm a grateful graduate of Hyles-Anderson (1985-1993). I recently heard Dr. Hyles say in a sermon that, “First Baptist Church of Hammond is 10,000 times more important than Hyles-Anderson College.” That is very true, because God promised divine perpetuity to the Church, not a religious school. I thank God for the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Dr. Hyles exposed corrupt Bible versions, and expressed his frustration with Bible colleges that profess to use the King James Bible, when in reality they don't believe it is inspired word-for-word (they only believe the originals are inerrant). I agree with Brother Hyles, because I believe he is right that the King James Bible is inspired. The following quote is taken from his book, The Need for an Every-Word Bible, page 54...

I'm tired of colleges and universities advertising that they use the King James Bible. Tell the whole story! Tell everyone that you do not believe that it is inspired word for word.

Many Bible colleges will advertise that they use only the King James Bible, but they do not believe it is without error, perfect, the only trustworthy English Bible.

Kindly, Bob Jones University (BJU) openly states on their college's website that they do not believe the King James Bible is the only good Bible in English. Although they do use primarily the King James Bible, I know that many of their graduates also use the modern corrupted, Luciferian, contaminated, Bible versions. Since the different Bible versions are drastically different in words and meaning, they cannot all be God's holy Word. By downplaying King James ONLYism, it just shouts louder that Bob Jones University doesn't care which Bible is God's Word. They cannot all be accurate! It is a big deal! By making even minor grammar and word changes to a Bible text, the meaning is entirely changed (and the new Bibles make major changes). Here's The Ugly Truth About Today's Bible Versions. Anyone who publishes a new Bible is required by U.S. copyright law to make substantial and unique changes from existing copyrighted texts. In other words, the translators are forced to make unnecessary changes to God's Word, so that they can obtain a legal copyright and claim exclusive rights to the money from selling it. The modern Bible-translating movement is all about money!

Furthermore, today's Bible versions were translated from an entirely different Greek source than the King James Bible. Which Greek is correct? It's impossible for the Alexandrian and Textus Receptus to all be God's Word. The silence from today's Bible colleges, religious universities, and churches is deafening!!!!!!!

Many of Bob Jones University's graduates use the modern corrupt Bible versions, which BJU won't criticize. This is apostasy in my opinion! John Wesley was correct when he said, “What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace.” The modern, satanic, counterfeit, Bible versions are creeping into the churches, corrupting the plan of salvation, by redefining what it means to “repent.” Take a look at how the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) corrupts the plan of salvation.

The path to destruction for a church is always the same:

  1. A church starts criticizing the King James Bible.
  2. The church allows multiple Bible versions into their congregation.
  3. The church increasingly leans upon the counterfeit Bible versions.
  4. The church abandons the King James Bible altogether.
  5. The religious group no longer has God's Words.

To some people it may seem like I'm nitpicking, but it's the difference between having a perfect King James Bible or an imperfect King James Bible. I don't know about you, but I want a perfect English Bible or else nothing! Don't tell me that the omnipotent God of the universe is incapable of preserving His Words perfectly. I realize that many of the world's 7,000 languages still don't have God's Word translated into their native tongue, but English is the primary world language today. I do not believe it is a coincidence that God preserved His Words in the King James Bible.

It is true that the 54 King James Bible translators themselves did not believe that their work of translating was flawless, but God's Word is flawless, and I believe those inspired words have been faithfully and accurately translated into the English language in the King James Bible. I believe we have the exact Bible that God wanted us to have today! I know because I have the Holy Spirit of God indwelling me as a child of God, and the Holy Spirit bears witness with my spirit that the King James Bible is God's Holy Word. Only the precious King James Bible faithfully upholds the deity of Jesus Christ, the Godhead, Christ's virgin birth, the blood of Jesus, Christ's preeminence, and God's authoritativeness. The plethora of modern Bible versions read like watered-down comic books!

The most popular Bible version is the satanic New International Version (NIV). But even worse is the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV). At least the corrupt NIV retains the word “virgin” in Isaiah 7:14, but the ERV completely removes this important theological word . . .

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” [emphasis added]

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Isaiah 7:14, “But the Lord will still show you this sign: The young woman is pregnant and will give birth to a son. She will name him Immanuel.” [emphasis added]

WICKEDNESS!!! A young woman is pregnant? That says nothing! The ERV removes Christ's virgin birth. My friend, BILLIONS of young women have been pregnant since 700 B.C. when this prophecy by Isaiah was proclaimed and written down. How ridiculous and retarded is the ERV to say that, “The young woman is pregnant.” Seriously? Is that a prophecy? Is the Bible really prophesying that the sign of the Lord will be a pregnant woman? The “Easy-To-Read” Bible version (ERV) is of the Devil, making no sense at all. According to Isaiah 7:14 in the “Easy-To-Read” Bible version (ERV), the promised sign from God proving that His Word is true, will be a pregnant woman. What a sad joke! Ah, but the faithful King James Bible (KJB) says the sign from the Lord will be that, “A VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE.” Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus.

The King James Bible has stood the test of time. It is the Bible that soul-winner's have used for centuries. It is the only Bible that still speaks with God's authority!!! I do not believe the King James Bible could have been improved. Jesus spoke in parables, so that God could filter out unbelievers who didn't desire the truth. If a man desires the truth, he can find it in the King James Bible.

Does The King James Bible Have Flaws?

I wrote this article because there is a ton of confusion over the Word of God today. Is the King James Bible reliable, or filled with flaws? I see no flaws! I see no errors! I see theologians with opinions, who think some things in the King James Bible could have been translated better, but they're just opinions. If you study the King James Bible, you will see the truth.

I heard Dr. Lindstrom (whom I love and whose sermons I promote) say that the word metanoia should have been transliterated into English, that is, not translated but carried over. This was done with the word baptizo, because there was no English equivalent. So the 1611 translators transliterated the word baptizo, rendering it as “baptize” in English. The 1611 translators translated the Greek word metanoia (which means a change of mind) to “repent.” According to Brother Lindstrom, this has caused much confusion concerning the plan of salvation. The problem is that most pastors and Christians go to the English dictionary to see what “repent” means, and the dictionary says “to feel remorse and turn away from sin.” This is a drastically different meaning than “to think differently,” which is the Biblical meaning. Yet, by cross-referencing Scripture-with-Scripture, I believe the Bible is clear enough that salvation is without works (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Pastor Lindstrom believed that if the King James Bible translators had transliterated (not translated) the words metanoia and metanoeo (i.e., to think differently), it would have prevented much confusion over what it means to “REPENT.” Yet, that is simply his opinion. I see the logic of his argument. But like Peter cautioned in 2nd Peter 3:16, I dare not mess with the Words of God. The King James Bible still conveys the truth if we study it.

We find the words “believe” and “believed” 85 times in the Gospel of John, but the word “repent” isn't mentioned even once. This evidences that the man who believes has repented. If repentance were a separate act from believing, then God surely would have mentioned it in the Gospel of John. So, even without transliterating the words metanoia and metanoeo, we can still obtain the correct meaning through “SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES” (John 5:39). I believe the King James Bible is inerrant, inspired, perfect and infallible. Just because it seems that some things could have been better translated, doesn't mean it's inferior. That is my opinion. I respect the opinion of preachers who disagree. Albeit, I am unalterably opposed to the modern Luciferian Bible versions, all of which were translated from the corrupt Greek manuscripts produced by Brooke Westcott and Fenton Hort in 1881.

Because of all the corruption amongst Greek manuscripts and scholars, many preachers refuse to consult the Greek to better understand the King James Bible. Personally, I think viewing the Hebrew and Greek are helpful, but you can't trust the Greek study aids today, as Dr. Gail Riplinger gratefully has documented in her excellent book, “Hazardous Materials: Greek And Hebrew Study Dangers.” It's all the so-called Greek “experts” who are continually questioning God's Word, planting seeds of doubt into ministerial student's minds.

You must understand that there are no “ORIGINAL” manuscripts available today of the Word of God. The Textus Receptus from which our beloved King James Bible was translated is largely from the work of Erasmus. Check out this history of the Textus Receptus to see just how complicated it all gets. After reading all that, it makes me appreciate the King James Bible. I'm not a Bible history scholar, but I have the Holy Spirit living in my body, and so do you if you're a born-again Christian (1st Corinthians 3:16-17; Romans 8:9; 1st John 3:24). The Holy Spirit tells me that I can trust the King James Bible, and only the King James Bible. Most often, the people who claim to know the most about the history of the Bible, are the very ones promoting the corrupt Luciferian Bible versions that all attack the deity of Jesus Christ.

And you know, I don't see anyone proclaiming the New International Version, or the Modern English Version, or the Easy-To-Read Version, or Good News For Modern Man, et cetera. I don't ever see any religious people saying, “This is God's inspired Word! This is the one! The New International version is it!” That speaks volumes! The only ones who are claiming exclusivity are the King James Bible only crowd!!! That means everyone else is supporting a wide array of fake Bible versions which all originate from the Alexandrian, Egypt, manuscripts used by Westcott and Hort to produce their work. These wicked men were unsaved occultists in the 19th century!!!

To “repent” is explained in Romans 3:19, “that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” Thus, seeing our need for redemption, we believe upon the Savior, Who died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and bodily raised up the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Repentance is from trusting in dead works which cannot save (Hebrews 6:1), which includes ALL works. Repentance is ceasing from our own efforts to merit Heaven, to completely resting in Christ's death, burial and resurrection. Whereas the Pharisees were self-righteous in their own eyes, failing to see their need for the Savior (Matthew 9:12); the harlots and publicans knew they were sinners, and trusted Jesus as the Christ to save them. Matthew 21:32, “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”

The bottom line is that I don't speak Koine Greek, and neither do most preachers who correct the King James Bible. So I don't even try to correct it. And besides, even if you moved to Greece and learned their modern language, it's not the same as the Koine Greek developed by Alexander the Great before the time of Christ. Like many preachers, I am sometimes tempted to point out things in the King James Bible that I THINK could have been translated better, but I stop myself. Satan conquered Eve by shaking her confidence in the Words of God... “HATH GOD SAID?” (Genesis 3:1).

God Did Not Intend For His Words To Be Easy To Understand

If he thought as do Bible-correctors today, I'm sure the Apostle Peter would have suggested that Paul write his Epistles a little plainer, so Peter could understand what he was saying (2nd Peter 3:16). BUT THEY WERE GOD'S WORDS, NOT PAUL'S. God made them hard to understand, not Paul. I believe the King James Bible is the faithfully preserved inspired Words of God, and THEY ARE GOD'S WORDS, not man's. Yes, they are sometimes hard to understand, but that's how God intended them to be!!!!!!! In a relentless futile attempt to make the Words of God easier for men to understand, today's Bible-butchers “have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God” (Jeremiah 23:36).

We learn the Bible by COMPARING spiritual things with spiritual (Scripture with Scripture)...

1stCorinthians 2:13, “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”

God never intended for the unregenerate man (the unsaved) to comprehend the depths of truth in His Word...

1st Corinthians 2:14-16, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

Many unsaved people errantly think they understand the Bible these days, because they have been intentionally corrupted by Luciferians to usher in the New World Order (NWO). The NWO is the Beast system of the coming Antichrist, the man of sin. The New World Order is represented by the feet and toes of iron mixed with clay in Nebuchadnezzar's image.

We read in 1st Thessalonians 4:14, “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” Again, we don't read anything about “repenting from our sins” to be saved, which is a false teaching in many churches today. God pity the woefully ignorant pastor who tells people that it's not enough to admit you're a sinner to be saved, but also, you must turn away from a life of sin. Forsaking sinful bad habits is NOT a requirement to be born-again! Forsaking sinful bad habits is a self-righteous work!

Mark 1:15 tells us to “Repent (metanoeo) ye, and believe the Gospel.” Literally, it means, “Change your mind and believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and bodily resurrected the third day.” Look at how crooked, dishonest and satanic the Easy-To-Read Version (ERV) is.... . .

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. [emphasis added]

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here. God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News! [emphasis added]

That is wrong, wrong, wrong! You don't have to change your own life as a requirement to be saved. The Greek word for “repent” in Mark 1:15 in the King James Bible is metanoeo, which means, “to think differently.” It is a change of mind. It DOESN'T mean to “change your hearts and lives,” which is what the corrupt ERV says!!! Do you see how Satan is destroying churches today???

The following King James Bible dictionary website is totally corrupt. Look how messed up religious websites are today! They define “repentance” as everything except a change of mind!!! No wonder people are confused! Wikipedia gets a lot of things wrong, but they got metanoia right!

Having said that, I do not cast away the good men who believe that the King James Bible could have been translated better. I know dear men of God who believe this. They are doctrinally sound. Personally, I am content with the King James Bible. I disagree with Dr. Peter Ruckman and Dr. Gail Riplinger that the English King James Bible is superior to the Greek and Hebrew, but I support their work and ministries. They are sincere. Dr. Riplinger's extensive work defending the King James Bible is superb, eye-opening, and a blessing to pastors across America. I learned from Dr. Riplinger that scholar William E. Vine denies that Christ's blood is on the Mercy Seat in Heaven. I learned from her that Dr. James Strong was associated with the occult Bible corrupters of his time, and that their Greek lexicons and concordances cannot be trusted. Understanding these truths makes it even more difficult to discern what is truth or error today.

Preachers Often Change Their Doctrinal Positions

There is much confusion on the internet, because people who author webpage articles fail to recognize that preachers often change their views and doctrinal positions over the decades. ...

For example: Dr. Kent Hovind has recently changed his doctrinal position from a pre-tribulation Rapture to a Pre-wrath Rapture view. I firmly believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture, simply because the Lord said no one knows (not even the angels in Heaven) WHEN He will return (Mark 13:32-37). Some Bible teachers conclude that this passage of Scripture refers to Christ' Second Coming at the end of the Tribulation, but that makes no sense (because from the time the Antichrist stands in the temple in Jerusalem and claims to be God, aka, The Abomination of Desolation, to the Lord's Second Coming will be exactly 3 1/2 years). So we would know exactly WHEN the Lord is coming back. Only a pre-tribulation Rapture supports the truth that Christ's coming for the saints is imminent, sudden and unpredictable.

I made this point concerning preachers changing their doctrinal positions, because you need to understand this reality of life. A lot of people like to point out that Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) believed that the New American Standard Bible (NASB) was more accurate than the King James Bible. In fact, I have found umpteen blatant corruptions in the NASB (or NASV, it's the same translation), including the complete removal of the all-important word “Godhead” from the Bible. The King James Bible mentions the word “Godhead” in Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20 and Colossians 2:9. I love and respect Dr. Rice, but I believe he was wrong about the NASV. It is corrupt! Dr. Rice didn't have the clear view that we have today. Brother Rice went to Heaven in 1980. It wasn't until 1984 that the second publishing of the New International Version (NIV) really took off in popularity. The NIV was so perverted and blatant in its attack of the Lord Jesus Christ that many preachers started waking up.

Why would anyone remove the important word, “Godhead,” especially since the word “Trinity” is not found in the Bible. The answer is obvious when you read the preface to the New International Version (NIV), which information is also viewable at Biblica's website (Biblica.com), who publish the satanic NIV. In the preface, the translators admit that they invited several dozen different religious denominations, to gather their opinions and input prior to the NIV's release, so that they could produce a Bible version appealing to as many religious groups as possible. That fact in itself is enough to justify trashing your demonic New International Version. Truly, the love of money is the root of all evil as the Bible teaches in 1st Timothy 6:10.

The churches which are embracing the modern Bible versions are changing their plan of salvation, to include turning away from sinful bad habits as a requirement to be saved, which is a works-based salvation. The Bible teaches that eternal life is a free gift, which cannot include any form of human effort.

I witnessed to a Seventh-day Adventist man this week. He tried to say that he and I believed the same thing concerning salvation. I knew better. I asked him if he believed a person can be born-again, and yet choose to continue living in sin. He replied, “There must be a change of heart to be saved.” That is wrong! The Bible never tells us to have a change of heart toward our sins to be saved; but rather, we simply need to have a change of mind, which is simply the realization of our guilty condition for sinning against a holy God. That is, we must see our need for the Savior (Galatians 3:24-26). A person can repent without believing, but a person cannot believe without repenting. Repentance is simply a change of mind that compels a man to believe the Gospel. Any changes that God desires in a Christian's life is the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and not a requirement to receive the free gift of eternal life.

Most Preachers Today Have Repentance Wrong

Although I refute Jack Chick's false meaning of the word “repent”, I applaud his exposure of the New King James Version as being a fraud of the Devil. Mr. Chick has attempted to defend himself by alleging that his critics don't believe repentance is necessary for salvation, but that is not true at all. I absolutely believe that repentance is necessary for salvation, but I believe “repentance” is simply a change of mind that compels a man to believe the Gospel; whereas Jack Chick believes that repentance is a change of heart that compels a man to cease from sinful behavior, so he then qualifies to believe the Gospel. There's a drastic theological difference in the former and latter views. The latter requires a willingness to turn away from sinful behavior to be saved, the former does not.

I found another great article at JustBible.org exposing the modern corrupt Bible versions, but the author of the article makes the grave mistake of assuming that the NKJV is trustworthy, but it's not!!! So Jack Chick is wrong on salvation, but right about the NKJV being corrupt. And the author of the article at JustBible.org is wrong about the NKJV being trustworthy. You'll find many such inconstancies on the internet and in various ministries today. Usually where a person is right on one thing, they'll be wrong on another. This is typical. Ultimately, you have to pray for God to give your discernment and wisdom, and test everything against the Word of God, and decide what is truth or error. It can be challenging at times. The main thing is to keep an objective mind and question everything. Don't believe everything I say, go verify it, and see if what I say is true. Only a fool blindly believes everything they hear and see. I could be wrong.

I respect Dr. John R. Rice, but he was only an imperfect man, as I am. I am confident that if Brother Rice would have lived long enough to see the 1984 NIV that he would have changed his position on the Bible, as did the Sword Of The Lord. Today, the Sword Of The Lord is King James Bible only, and I applaud them much for that! Dr. Hyles decided to become King James Bible only when he realized what the Devil was doing. I too see the Devil at work in the modern Bible versions, do you? END

Folks, the end time's come. The field is white, the laborers are few. We have the greatest opportunity of any generation, that ever lived, to reach desperate souls for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Oh how America needs preaching and praying preachers! Preaching without prayer is dead,
and prayer without preaching is shallow Christianity!!!
Acts 5:42, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
