Proverbs 16:7, “When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his
enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 29:27, “An
unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way
is abomination to the wicked.” 2nd
Corinthians 3:6, “Who
also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter,
but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” Jude
1:22-23, “And
of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear,
pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”
The
BIG PROBLEM with the Bob Jones University crowd is a sinful, prideful,
arrogant, WOEFUL LACK OF LOVE for people! If you do not dot your i's and
cross your t's exactly as they do, you are blackballed, despised,
ostracized and even
threatened by the Bob Jones' crowd. Ladies and gentlemen, that is what a
religious cult does!
There is a popular website called BJUnity.org published
by Tim Tyson, a graduate of Bob Jones University (BJU). Founded in 1927 by
Dr. Bob Jones Sr. (1883-1968), BJU historically was once
“THE” Fundamentalist Bible college in America. After Dr. Bob Jones Sr. died
in 1968, the college quickly began to go downhill spiritually, embracing the
Devil's plan of Lordship Salvation and the Devil's modern corrupt Bible
revisions. Part of the problem is that in their deteriorated spiritual
state, BJU has attracted many undesirable type students, who merely want to
pursue a career and not the things of God. So they brought this problem of
LGBTQ students upon themselves by their sinful compromise with the world and
apostates.
One thing I have learned in my 40 years as a born-again Christian (I am now
53), is that there is always a line of acceptance somewhere drawn by men
between absolute truth and lies, and between morality and immorality. No
religious institution, church, nor individual Christian, remains in one spot
spiritually all the time. As society deteriorates morally, and more corrupt
Bibles are published, and the Gospel is perverted, and mainstream
evangelicalism turns more apostate—Christians (especially in Bible colleges
and churches) MUST move our lines of tolerance toward the right. Bob Jones
University has stayed in one place, as the world (both secular and
religious) have deteriorated, so that BJU today is in enemy territory. They
are wrong
on the Gospel. They are wrong
on the Bible. They are wrong on how they treat people, which I will
kindly address in this blog article.
On the BJUnity website, they state:
Gay people don’t struggle with homosexuality, the way the church
inaccurately tries to characterize us. We struggle with the church’s
lack of love, with the church’s bullying and hate speech. We struggle
with the church promoting a broad religious culture that makes
discrimination acceptable inside the church community and out.... Months
of hopes, dreams, conversations, careful plans and purposeful actions
have brought us to this wonderful day! Generations of lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and straight
affirming alumni of Bob Jones University—spanning more than six
decades—finally and officially have an alternative organization for
networking and support. We are not alone! http://bjunity.org
Now, I don't agree with much of that. Homosexuality is a horrible sin
(Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32). Proverbs 29:27 teaches that there can
never be any harmony between the LGBTQ community and God-fearing
Christians. Having said that, the Bible also says that having compassion
makes a difference. The Bible teaches to love our enemies (which
includes the LGBTQ community). The Bible teaches that the letter
killeth, but the spirit giveth life. The Bible gives specific guidelines
on how to treat a worldly brother or sister. 1st
Corinthians 5:11, “But now I have written unto you not to keep company,
if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an
idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an
one no not to eat.” So
we are commanded to Biblically separate from worldly professed
believers. But wait there's more...
The Bible also says in Galatians
6:1-3, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are
spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness;
considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's
burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to
be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Kindly
said, the Bob Jones' crowd think they are something! The stench of their
pompous arrogance and holier-than-thou attitude is despicable! BJU
threatens it's LGBTQ alumni with arrest if they step foot on campus.
That is not a spirit of love or meekness!
I Am Also A Victim Of The Bob Jones University Crowd
I
can testify firsthand of the woeful lack of love, and hated which I've
received, from BJU alumni, at the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam since
2014. A series of adverse circumstances in my life compelled me to
attend Harvest in late 2013. I desperately needed their love,
compassion, spiritual help, and a church family. At first everything
went fine, and I hadn't been so happy in many years.
But being a
graduate of Hyles-Anderson College, and a true Fundamentalist, I was
disturbed to see dozens of different Bible versions being used and
sanctioned by the pastors. I was also disturbed that Marty Herron
(senior pastor at the time) was a big fan of Dr. John MacArthur, and as
MacArthur, they both preach the Satanic lie of Lordship Salvation. I
went home and cried that Sunday morning, when I first heard Pastor
Herron teach that crap to hundreds of impressionable people in the
church.
So I spent my own money for hardcopies of books, which were authored by
Fundamentalist preachers. I gave the pastors the book “NIV: The
Antichrist's Bible” by Pastor Al Lacy. I gave them the book “Martin
Luther: Master Of Deceit” by Pastor Max Younce. I gave them the book “I
Never Knew You” by Evangelist Michael Bowen. I gave them the
book “Somebody's Got To Milk The Cows” by Pastor Jack Hyles. For these
books, they were greatly offended and berated me. I was forced out of
church and ostracized. Pastor Marty Herron has my blood on his hands!
The pastors called Dr. Jack Hyles “a cult” for his stand against the
Devil's Westcott and Hort perversions. These wicked pastors at Harvest
Baptist Church of Guam are all Bob Jones University alumni.
Something I have learned about Neo-evangelicals is that they are
wishy-washy. They don't pay attention to the details. They are
indifferent toward truth, whether it be the Gospel or the inspired Word
of God itself. Pastor Herron told me I could pass out Gospel tracts by
Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995). Meanwhile he was passing out damnable
literature by Pastor John MacArthur. Kindly said, Dr. Herron is
shallow. I am not trying to be unkind, but he is your typical
incompetent religious leader today in the Neo-evangelical camp, not sure
which way is right or wrong. So they straddle the fence to get along
with the majority of their peers. It is called COMPROMISE!!!
In 2017, I was very lonely without a church family, so I literally
apologized and begged to come back to church. I pleaded to come to the
men's prayer meeting on Saturday morning. The pastors of Harvest told me
verbatim to “Go elsewhere!” For the record before God and man, I don't
attend church today, and haven't attended church since 2014, simply
because HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH ON GUAM WON'T LET ME!!! I have kindly
offered to remove my criticisms from the internet about their church,
simply as a gesture of kindness if they would embrace me into their
church family. All I have ever kindly requested is to come back to
church. They still refuse. They drew first blood!
But like Tim Tyson (and other former students of BJU), who have learned
the hard way—there is a malicious spirit of hatred, rejection,
ostracization, contempt and woeful lack of compassion toward anyone who
doesn't dot their i's and cross their t's exactly as does BJU
headquarters. Seventy-five years ago Lordship Salvation would not have
been tolerated at BJU, but today they preach it! How did the Devil creep
into their midst? I see a giant problem with the BJU crowd today, which
is a woeful lack of love for human beings! The LGBTQ agenda is evil, but
they are still people, who need to know that they are loved. The Bible
says when we are right with God, even our enemies will back off. Proverbs
16:7, “When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to
be at peace with him.”
I cannot speak for Tim Tyson, but I can speak for myself. I am not a BJU
alumni, thankfully. But I did attend one of their closely affiliated
churches for a year in 2013-2015, at the Harvest Baptist Church on the
island of Guam in Micronesia. The nearby famous Marianas Trench is not
as deep as their sinful heart of pride at Harvest Baptist Church! They
didn't care about me as a hurting human being. They axed me like a
turkey on Thanksgiving Day, simply because I LOVED THEM enough to share
the truth with them. Even if they didn't agree with me, they could have
told me they loved me, and given me the chance to stay. They never once
knocked on my door. No one cared. They just gave up on me, and it hurt.
I lost the only church family I had known in many years.
The big thing is, I begged Harvest's pastors in 2017 to come back, three
times. They refused, being the ungodly, uncaring and unqualified pastors
they are! I have been exposing Harvest and writing negative articles
about them since, and by God's grace will continue to do so, simply
telling THE TRUTH about their religious cult of snobs! The new senior
pastor, Gary Walton, is just as bad, too henpecked to even try to
contact me. My phone number is in the damn phone book! I made every
attempt to come back to their church, but they kicked me in the head and
left me for dead. Now it is their turn! The only reason I have ever
tried to return is because at least the King James Bible is the primary
Bible they use. At least it was when I left in 2014. And the free Gospel
wasn't rejected, it was just obscured by the addition of another gospel
of Lordship Salvation. Harvest is a house of confusion!
Love Works Much Better Than Threats
Tim Tyson as a gay person has a very different reason than I do for
exposing the Bob Jones University crowd, but we SHARE the same painfully
true root argument against BJU—which is a woeful LACK OF COMPASSION for
hurting people. I myself, like BJU, don't agree with the LGBTQ agenda,
but if the Bob Jones crowd would unconditionally express God's love for
everyone, then they would cause even their enemies to be at peace with
them. That is what the Bible says in Proverbs 16:7. The prideful Bob
Jones' crowd just sinfully don't care!
Instead of threatening gay BJU alumni Wayne Mouritzen with arrest if he
steps on campus, wouldn't it have been better to send him a fruit basket
with a note assuring him that his brothers and sisters in Christ still
love him? You know it would! Something is very wrong with the Bob Jones
crowd. They lack God's love, shamefully so. A hurting dog barks! Tim
Tyson is a hurting man. I am hurting. A lot of people are hurting. But
Dr. Steve Pettit with his big phony $3 smile, doesn't give a damn about
anybody except himself and his $200,000 a year plus new job as president
of BJU since 2014. Spiritual crime pays well!
If Harvest Baptist Church on Guam at any point since 2014 would have
simply reached out to me with love, inviting me back, I would have wept
and done all I could to make everything up to them, because they are
still my church family. They can deny me all they want, but I am not
going away until God decides it so. Shame on Harvest Baptist Church of
Guam! Shame on Bob Jones University in Greensboro, South Carolina.
You cannot have the shameful attitude that people don't matter and still
be right with God. People matter! Right doctrine matters! Galatians
6:1-3 plainly teaches that we are expected by God to bear one another's
burdens, not condemn others, like the hateful Bob Jones' crowd have done
to Tim Tyson, Wayne Mouritzen and myself. We ought never accept the sin
with the sinner, nor reject the sinner with the sin. The Bob Jones crowd
are notorious for rejecting the sinner with their sin. I have news for
you—the Bob Jones' crowd are just as sinful, dirty and rotten as the
imperfect people they treat like crap! No one at Harvest Baptist Church
of Guam would admit to being “hateful,” but considering that I have been
pleading for 6 years to simply sit in church services, which they still
vehemently refuse to allow, it 100% proves their hypocrisy, selfishness,
wrong priorities and hatred.
The BIG PROBLEM with the Bob Jones University crowd is a sinful,
prideful, arrogant, WOEFUL LACK OF LOVE for people! But what else can we
expect from a wicked religious group who don't even care about the
purity of the Holy Bible? What else can we expect from a religious cult
that bids Godspeed to a
reprobate like Dr. John MacArthur? There
is not a more
dangerous teacher in the world today than
John MacArthur. If BJU don't care about right doctrine, or even the
infallibility of God's Word, it doesn't surprise me that people also
mean nothing to them. There is a direct correlation between a love for
THE TRUTH, and a genuine love for PEOPLE (1st Corinthians 13:6). Thank
