Against the People

By David J. Stewart

“Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people...” —Acts 21:28

My website, i.e., ministry, is extremely controversial. Most people don't like me and I understand why... because I speak my opinions which are considered “unorthodox” by most people. Jesus was hated as much as He was loved. Even today, 2000 years after Christ walked this earth, the name of Jesus is either loved or cursed by the masses of society. When Jesus taught, many of the Jews became upset, even to the point of trying to kill Him (John 10:33). In Matthew 23:31 Jesus said, “Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Numerous Old Testament prophets were martyred for their truthful message that went against the opinions of the people. The truth has always been unpopular with the general public. In Acts 21:28 we find the phrase “against the people” concerning the Apostle Paul's teachings and opinions. In Acts chapter 7, Stephen was stoned to death by an angry mob for preaching the truth.

Satan is smarter than most people give him credit. Satan knew that if he could take Christ out of our society that over time our morals would decline. When Christ, Who is the absolute standard, is removed from any system of morals, man then become the standard. As culture changes from one generation to the next, morals also change. This is how homosexual marriages and abortion have become legal in America. Most people are so used to sin, desensitized by decades of immoral television, that nothing phases them anymore. Anything goes these days. We cannot teach people the teachings of the Lord without the Lord of the teachings. To do so gives men the authority behind the morals code instead of following a holy God Who wrote the Law. Without God there can be no morality.

And as our nation deteriorates, people are becoming increasingly offended by Christianity. It's just a matter of time until Christians are once again persecuted, arrested, prosecuted and even executed because of their stand for what is righteous. Satan doesn't care if people have faith in religion. Satan doesn't want anyone believing on Jesus Christ as their Savior. The Devil doesn't mind if you make Jesus your Lord, as did Judas; but the Devil doesn't want anybody believing the gospel. Notice carefully what the Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” Notice that the Bible says Satan tries to prevent people from hearing “the Gospel.”

Churches all across America are teaching a false gospel of “make Jesus your Lord.” That's not salvation. Numerous movies such as Time Traveler, The Moment After and Six: The Mark Unleashed teach the same false gospel of “make Jesus Lord,” “give Him your life,” “commit your life to Christ” and “please wash me and I will follow you from now on.” Remember that Judas was one of Jesus' very disciples, but still went to Hell. Discipleship is not salvation. Consecration is not salvation. Dedication is not salvation. Rehabilitation is not salvation. Reformation is not salvation. Education is not salvation.

My friend, REGENERATION is salvation, being born-again, which only comes by believing that Jesus died, was buried and rose three days later for your sins. This is the good news (the Gospel, 1st Corinthians 15:1-4). The Gospel, as hard as it is to fathom and grasp, is actually becoming unpopular in today's apostate churches. It offends most churchgoers these days to say that a person can be saved simply by receiving Christ's death, burial and resurrection as payment for their sins. Most religious people have been indoctrinated with false doctrines, claiming that you must make Jesus Lord to be saved.

In fact, in the movie “Time Traveler” (2002) produced by apostate Paul Crouch, the main actor Russell Carlisle makes this statement, “We know the Lord Jesus will not save any man He cannot command.” What? Where does the Bible say Jesus won't save a man that He cannot control? The Bible doesn't! Paul Crouch is propagating a lie of Satan! The Time Traveler movie is wonderful in it's comparison of morality in 1890 verses in the year 2002, and I absolutely loved everything about the movie until I heard their false Gospel. If any book or film teaches a false Gospel, I have to give it a big zero, because that's what God gives it! Sincerity is a path to Hell. It is a sin to add or subtract from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
