The Fear Of The Lord Is To Hate Evil

By David J. Stewart | October 2015

Psalms 36:1, “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.” ... Proverbs 8:13, “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.”

I was listening to Alexander Scourby read the Holy King James Bible today on the way to my doctor's appointment. I finished Proverbs and Ecclesiastes the other day and rewound it to the beginning of Proverbs, so I could hear it all again. We all desperately need wisdom. God says in His Word that wisdom is the main thing that we need in life. Proverbs 4:7, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

As I listened to the Proverbs, a phrase from Proverbs 8:13a impressed upon my heart... “THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS TO HATE EVIL”!!! The Godless liberal newsmedia, leftists, Communists, homosexuals and kooks, have been relentlessly trying to intimidate Christian believers to become silent concerning the sin of homosexuality. Wicked people, who DO NOT FEAR GOD, have demonized God-fearing Christians as being “bigots,” “hate-mongers” and “radical extremists.”

In reality, Christians are not hateful bigots for obeying God's Word. We are commanded in Psalms 97:10, “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” Homosexuality is evil. Sin is disobedience to God. Evil is premeditated sin. Homosexuality is a deathstyle of deliberate sin, making it evil. Homosexuality is associated with many diseases, including A.I.D.S. Homosexuality has been proven to adversely affect a child's normal growth in a same-sex environment, where either the male or female role model is missing. Children cannot develop normally in a same-sex parenting situation. Homosexuality harms children!!! And, tragically, homosexual literature is saturated with pedophile themes and perversion. Hollywood is perverted to the core, saturated with pedophilia. The pederasts within the Roman Catholic church ought to be a wake-up call to parents everywhere, because at least half of all priests are homosexuals. There is an undeniable connection between homosexuality and pedophilia. The Holy Bible says that the fear of God is to hate evil. If you fear God, then you will hate sexual perversion in all its forms, and that definitely includes homosexuality.

I preach against sin, because I am a born-again Christian and I fear God. I am a Baptist preacher! I am not perfect, but I desire to be. I long for the time when God gives me a new glorified body at the Rapture, that is incapable of sin or suffering (1st Corinthians 15:52-57; Philippians 3:21). Amen! Do you fear God? I've heard some Bible teachers wrongly say that fearing God does not mean to be afraid of; but rather, to respect. No, to fear God literally means to FEAR GOD! We read in 2nd Corinthians 5:11, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” The “TERROR OF THE LORD” means exactly what it says. If a child disobeys their parents, they fear that sting of the belt from a spanking. Likewise, Hebrews 12:6-8 teaches that God chastises (disciplines) and scourges (whips) His children in love. Once you've been whooped by God, you don't want to go through it again. Ask Jonah! Ask David! Ask Samson!

Twice in recent weeks, I have been in the presence of transvestites. One of my nurses at the hospital, after my gallbladder removal surgery, was a transvestite (a cross-dressing effeminate man). And then a week after my surgery, my doctor said I could eat normal, so I stopped into Wendy's for a double-cheeseburger. The cashier was a tall transvestite. It was creepy! I do not judge others. I am never unkind to anyone, but my heart cringes with disgust when I'm in the presence of queers. They need God, but don't want him (Romans 1:28). Whenever I have been in the presence of homosexuals, they hated me without cause merely because I am a Christian. If you even mention God, and love the Lord, homosexuals will despise you. Homosexuality is a horrible sin, the bottom of the barrel of a culture, as low morally as a society can go. The Bible tells the truth of the matter in Proverbs 29:27, “An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.”

We are living in ungodly times. I believe that we are now in the end times prophesied of in the Holy Scriptures. The Bible foretold in 2nd Timothy 3:1-2 of “perilous times” (hard, difficult, to endure) that would come in the last days. Certainly, to be a God-fearing Christian in an openly wicked homosexual society is very difficult to cope with. Increasingly, Christians are being demonized along with organized religion. This anti-Christian sentiment by Hollywood and the liberal media has sparked much hatred in youth today toward Christianity.

Case in point, a crazed Oregon community college student open-fired a couple days ago on his peers, murdering a dozen college students, specifically targeting Christians. Witnesses says that the gunman asked each victim “Are you a Christian?,” and then killed them if they responded, “Yes.” The daily news is filled with much insanity, police brutality, blatant government crimes, family violence and things which are difficult to receive. The news has become so bizarre that each day seems like another episode of “The Twilight Zone” by Rod Serling. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

I was sad to find the following quote by Star Trek (which aired from 1966-1969) legend, William Shatner, who stared as Captain Kirk in the mega-popular series. ...

Ephesians 4:17-19, “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.”

William Shatner is Jewish and as of 2015 has a net worth of $300,000,000. Although the above Scripture passage speaks of unbelieving Gentiles, it equally applies to unbelieving Jews. Mr. Shatner is an unbelieving Jew. Shatner is now 84-years-old (born in 1931), a Christ-rejecter, and cannot take one penny of his amassed wealth with him into eternity. I am sad for Mr. Shatner, as he has no hope. 1st Thessalonians 4:13, “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” There is no hope outside of being born-again by faith alone in Christ Jesus. The ungodly world has no hope, no answers, no solutions, no peace and no salvation.

NO JESUS = NO PEACE
KNOW JESUS = KNOW PEACE

Romans 5:1, “Therefore being justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This generation does not fear God. They have no expectation of judgment in eternity. Romans 3:18, “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The psalmist said that it was obvious to him the wicked DID NOT FEAR GOD, because of their willingness to commit sin. Psalms 36:1, “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.” This generation DOES NOT FEAR GOD, which is why abortion (murder) is legal, homosexuality (perversion) is legal, pornography (public nakedness and adultery) is legal, same-sex union (perversion) is legal, drunkenness (substance abuse) is legal, et cetera. Adultery is acceptable in the United States today. Casino gambling, prostitution and dirty-dancing are all legal. “SIN CITY” Las Vegas is a hundred times worse than Sodom.

Did you know that over 1,000 families live 20-feet underneath the neon lights of Las Vegas? It's true. There are over 200 miles of drainage tunnels under “the city that never sleeps,” where the poor and homeless barely survive. While the gambling casinos rake in hundreds-of-billions of dollars a year, the poor survive on mattresses set atop cinderblocks, with a foot of rainwater passing underneath their bed each time it rains. Search YouTube for videos of “Las Vegas' poor live in storm drains.” How could this happen in America, the land of plenty? It is greed, evil and wickedness. As God-fearing Christians, we ought to HATE Las Vegas casinos and the blasphemous ungodly term, “SIN CITY.” We are dwelling in “SIN COUNTRY!”

My friend, “What HAPPENS in Las Vegas is RECORDED in Heaven!!!” Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” God doesn't use computers in Heaven, He keeps a big collection of BOOKS!!! What is being recorded about you? Is your name in the most important book of all, i.e., the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE? Revelation 20:15, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

I wrote this article to exalt the simple Biblical truth... THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS TO HATE EVIL. If you fear God, knowing that we must all appear before the judgment throne of God, then it will affect how you view sin and evil. Hebrews 4:13, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Nothing is ever hidden from the eyes of God. Jesus warned in Matthew 12:36 that God will hold men accountable for even their words spoken. Proverbs 24:12 even says God will judge men's thoughts and motives, “If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?” God is the keeper of men's souls. Ecclesiastes 12:7 teaches that our spirit returns into God's hands the moment we die, and our earthly tabernacle can no longer house the soul and spirit. Have you been born-again? It's not enough to be spiritual to go to Heaven. If you miss Heaven, you will spend eternity burning in the fires of Hell.

The Word of God says that our whole duty in life is to FEAR GOD AND OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, “ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Romans 14:10-12, “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” I fear God, because He is my Creator, and my Redeemer, and I fully realize that I must give account before Him in eternity for my life now. Although I am not in danger of Hell-fire (John 3:18), because the blood of Jesus has washed my sins away, I still have to give account for all the sins which I've committed since I've been saved (2nd Corinthians 5:9). I must give account for the decisions and choices I have made, both good and bad works, and so also must you my friend. This is for the Christian, that is, the Judgment Seat Of Christ.

If you are unsaved and die in your sins without Christ, you are already condemned because of your unbelief. You will go straight to Hell to burn forever. If you miss Heaven, there is no other place for you to go than the Lake of Fire. It's Heaven or Hell, no where else. God has made salvation freely available to anyone who wants it. Eternal life is free, a gift, which cannot be merited nor earned. You simply acknowledge that you are a guilty sinner in God's holy eyes, for breaking His commandments (Romans 3:19); and you believe the Gospel (Good News) that Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and raised-up three days later (Mark 1:15). Simply BELIEVE and you will be immediately and forever born-again by the Holy Spirit of God!

The Fear Of God Is To Hate False Teachings And Corrupt Bible Versions

There is an arrogancy in our churches today amongst neo-evangelical pastors, who refuse to repent of the Lordship Salvation heresy. If fearing God means hating evil, then that MUST include the evils of false teachings and corrupt Bible versions. In an attempt to defend their apostate heroes (i.e., Paul Washer, John MacArthur, Ray Comfort, Billy and Franklin Graham, Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Beth Moore, Charles Stanley, Pat Robertson, John Piper, Chip Ingram, William Lane Craig, John Hagee, Jimmy Swaggart and other reprobates concerning the plan of salvation), many Baptist pastors today dismiss the raging battle between “the simplicity that is in Christ” (2nd Corinthians 11:3) and “Lordship Salvation” as merely being a matter of splitting hairs over doctrine.

Proverbs 8:13, “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.”

God did not institute two plans of salvation. Either a man must cease from intentional sinful behavior as a requirement to be saved, or he does not. It cannot be both. Either eternal life is a completely free gift that can be received simply by believing the Gospel; OR, a person must also fully surrender their will to Christ, make public confession, turn from sins, forsake the world, and commit their life to follow Jesus to be saved. Clearly, these are two very different plans of salvation. As an example, here is the horribly unbiblical works-based plan of salvation of Billy Graham. Perhaps no other preacher has been more respected, revered and idolized in history BY THE WORLD than Billy Graham. Mr. Graham, “Billy,” has “that look.” Those stern preacher's eyes, with his burning countenance, long flowing white hair, and firm authoritative voice, all seem to exemplify a true evangelist. Yet, Billy Graham is a heretic, teaching that a person must confess Christ publicly and pay a price of holy living to be saved. That is not the gift of God.

Here is the false plan of salvation of Chip Ingram, Paul Washer, John MacArthur and Ray Comfort (to name a few). If you love the Lord, and fear God, then you ought to hate the evil of Lordship Salvation. Where does this heresy originate in our churches? It has largely come from the plethora of new counterfeit satanic Bible versions. Pastors all across the world, especially America where the corruption originates, speak with a froward (crooked) mouth, because they are reading and preaching from froward (crooked) Bible versions. If I were the Devil, I'd change the Bible, and in so doing incrementally corrupt the churches over time. And so it is today. What seemingly began as a sincere attempt to modernize the English language a century ago, has deteriorated into a monstrous movement to totally eviscerate the deity of Christ, exterminate the Godhead and pervert what it means to repent and be saved.

Today's Bible versions are infected with false doctrine, watered-down into nonsense, lacking authority, and impossible to comprehend doctrinally. See for yourself! The most popular of the imposters is the New International Version (NIV), used in most churches. Please see the New International Reader's Version (NIRV) aimed at teenagers. Are you using the Antichrist's Bible? I hate the new satanic Bible versions, because I fear God (Proverbs 8:13), and I love the Lord Jesus Christ (Psalms 97:10). We don't have many Christians today who fear God, because preachers aren't preaching anymore. We ought to FEAR GOD, which compels us to HATE EVIL in all its forms. I hate false Bibles. I hate false plans of salvation. I hate false religions and false doctrines. I believe that we ought to love everyone, unconditionally, with God's love shed abroad in our heart by the Holy Spirit of God. God is love, and if we walk with God we will love others as much as we hate evil. To hate evil without equally loving the person behind the sin is not Biblical Christianity. Jesus loved everyone, harboring hatred toward none. To love without hating evil is sinful compromise.

Again, I wrote this article to exalt the Biblical truth that Christians ought to FEAR GOD and in so doing HATE EVIL. We don't fear God because we hate evil; but rather, we hate evil because we fear God. Lesbians don't fear God. Alcoholics don't fear God. Homosexuals don't fear God. Those who teach Lordship Salvation don't fear God, which is why they hate sinners. Pornographers don't fear God. Liberals, leftists and Communists don't fear God. The heathen world wants us to shut up about the sin of homosexuality. The world doesn't fear God, not in the least. The Godless world despises a holy God, and His holy Word in the King James Bible. The wicked world continually redefines and portrays God as a liberal who permits sin, everyone goes to Heaven, and it doesn't matter what you believe just so long as you're sincere. Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Sadly, many Baptist churches today have been caught up into the heresy of Lordship Salvation, which cannot produce the new birth in Jesus Christ. Literally, they are not saved! No one is saved who thinks they must forsake the act of sin as part of being saved. Either God does all the saving or else you're not saved. Turning from sinful behavior is NOT what it means to repent in God's Word for salvation. Religion has crept into our churches. Lordship Salvation seems right, but it is all wrong. It seems to be the correct way, but it is the Devil's way.

If today's wayward pastors truly feared God, then they would take heed to warnings (from humble preachers like myself) and repent, bringing their beliefs back into line with the Holy Bible. The Bible repeatedly warns and cautions against false prophets who change the Word of God into a lie, and corrupt the truth. A Baptist church congregation that adheres to Lordship Salvation is in the same religious nightmare boat of Seventh-day Adventism, that is, requiring a change of life as proof of repentance for salvation. Biblically, repentance is simply a change of mind, where a man finally agrees with God that he is a guilty sinner and thus believes the Gospel to be saved. Repentance is not a change of life, nor even a change of mind that leads to a change of life. Discipleship is entirely different than salvation. Salvation is a free gift; whereas Discipleship costs a believer the world and love for sin. Discipleship costs us everything, but salvation is free and costs us nothing.

Walking With God By Abiding In The Scriptures Increases Our Fear Of God

The Scriptures teach that by hearing the Word of God our faith increases. Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We need Bible preaching today like never before, so that young people will fear God. The reason why people no longer fear God is because preachers have stopped preaching on the reality, penalty and awfulness of Hell. We've got a whole new breed of religious fraud that has substituted for Christianity in the churches. Psychology has replaced preaching. You'll often hear pastors speak on the subjects of wisdom, love and obedience; but you'll hardly ever hear anything about the coming judgment, and the horrifying fires of Hell that await all unsaved people.

Do you fear God? Do you hate evil? This untoward, wicked and perverse generation today DOESN'T fear God, not in the least. Today's adults are yesterday's public school students, who were deprived of the Word of God and prayer in their daily curriculum. Since 1963 America's youth have been denied the Holy Bible in their education, instead being indoctrinated with the Godless and cruel hoax of Evolution. Is it any wonder why campus shootings have become epidemic across the United States? Proverbs 30:12, “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.” Youth today are full of selfishness, self-centeredness and self-righteousness.

I fear God. I am afraid to hurt another human being, because I know that I must give account to God for my every word (Matthew 12:36), thought (Proverbs 24:12) and action (Ecclesiastes 12:14). Thus, I want to be honest. I would rather suffer a loss than to cause a loss for another person. I can live with being cheated, but I don't want it on my conscience that I stole money from another person. By God's grace, I have a clean conscience. Most people don't think like me, which is why they steal, cheat, lie and rob other people. Most people cheat others in such a way that they rationalize the crime, justifying it in their own wicked mind. Anything can be justified if you're willing to turn a blind eye to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit's conviction.

The word “fear” appears 75 times in the King James Bible book of Psalms. As Christian believers, the Word of God continually teaches us to FEAR THE LORD. Here are just a few Scriptures from the Psalms about FEARING GOD...

Psalms 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”

Psalms 34:9, “O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.”

Psalms 34:11, “Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”

Psalms 66:16, “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”

Psalms 67:7, “God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”

Psalms 76:7, “Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?”

Psalms 76:11, “Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.”

Psalms 85:9, “Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.”

Psalms 86:11, “Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.”

Psalms 89:7, “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”

Psalms 90:11, “Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.”

To fear God means that we obey Him, because we know what will happen if we don't. When I was growing up, I dared not sass my father or disobey him, because I knew I would get spanked with a belt if I did (or I would be laying on the floor from a swipe of my father's hand before I knew what hit me). Call that what you want, but I respected my father and it kept me out of a lot of trouble as a teenager. My parents were both Christians. I feared my father, and that fear carried over into my adult life with the Lord God. I know that my mother and father also loved me very much, and cared about me. My parents weren't perfect (none are), but they were Christians and that made all the difference in the world.

Notice what Proverbs says... UNTO HIM THAT OUGHT TO BE FEARED!!!

Psalms 76:11, “Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.”

God ought to be feared. If you don't fear God, then you don't know God. 2nd Corinthians 5:11 speaks of, “KNOWING THE TERROR OF THE LORD.” God is not a tyrant, but He is God. As God, He makes the rules. Our duty is to obey God's commandments. If men disobey God, then we are the sinners, not God. From the beginning of time God has been good to mankind. Man always ruins things, conniving in his own sinful ways to outsmart God, which always leads to his own destruction. I wrote this article to draw attention to the Biblical truth that we should all FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. We don't hear enough preaching these days about FEARING GOD. If people feared God, they wouldn't cheat each other (1st Thessalonians 4:6). If people feared God, they wouldn't commit adultery (Proverbs 6:29). If people feared God, they wouldn't gossip and backbite one another (James 4:12).

No doubt many Christians would argue that a believer ought to serve God out of a heart of love and loyalty, in gratitude for all that the Lord is and does for us. I wholeheartedly agree. But before young people can grow to that place in their spiritual walk with God, they must be taught to obey or else face the grave consequences. The fear of God is the training wheels. The fear of God will follow and guide us throughout life. Hopefully, at some point, we will want to do right and preach the Gospel out of a deep sense of love, and commitment, for our God and Savior. If our ungodly U.S. Supreme Court feared God, then they never would have legalized abortion in 1973 and same-sex marriage in 2015. There is no rule of law anymore, only perversion of justice. Woe unto our nation!!!

I feel sorry for children who grow up in unsaved homes, with parents having no moral conscience, mistreating their children on a whim. Children need to be spanked when they disobey, so that they will not grow up to become criminals; but some parents continually swear at their children, slap them around and are abusive. The Bible condemns that type of cruelty. Fearing God in no way allows for abuse. I know that God loves me very much, and He will discipline me if I go astray (Hebrews 12:6-8). Job 5:17, “Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.”

Preaching The Word Of God Teaches The Fear Of God

We need a revival of the fear of God in our churches today. Youth need to hear preaching from the Holy Bible. That is the great lack in our nation today. No solution will work that leaves off the preaching of the Word of God and the Gospel by which men are born-again!

The word fear is mentioned 28 times in the King James Bible book of Proverbs. Here are several Scriptures. ...

Proverb 1:28-29, “Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD.”

Proverb 9:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

Proverb 23:17, “Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.”

Proverb 24:21, “My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change.”

Proverb 28:14, “Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.”

Proverb 29:25, “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”

Proverb 31:30, “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”

Everywhere I go in public places, I see youth nowadays who are in their own little world, mumbling vulgar words to themselves as they pimp and strut to the beat of the Devil's music being pumped into their brain by some electronic media device. Kids are in “The Twilight Zone” these days. The “F” word is commonplace in today's hip-hop gangsta music, including restaurants, which has become pervasive in American culture. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Literally, the United States has become a drug-infested, perverse, prison culture. I feel sorry for kids and teens these days. The Devil is relentlessly going after each of them to kill, steal and destroy their lives (John 10:10).

I am amazed that parents tolerate the sick-minded sex-perversion by Walt Disney. Even Baptist churches are promoting Walt Disney's “Lion King” and “Aladdin” music themes to their youth. Disney's new CEO is an open homosexual, as are an estimated 40% of their 166,000 employees. America has earned the accusation from some Arabs of being “THE GREAT SATAN!” We sure are! I love my country of the United States that I once knew, but that country doesn't exist anymore. With tens-of-millions of illegal immigrants having flooded into the country (most of whom don't speak any English); and a U.S. President who isn't even a natural U.S. born citizen; and a Congress that has been effectively decommissioned by the Globalists who've overthrow The White House; and all the blatant government crimes, treason and police state takeover, there is no country anymore. Many citizens who used to go all out at Christmas time, setting out hundreds-of-thousands of Christmas lights and decorations, no longer do so, because they say, “Christmas just doesn't mean what it used to in America.” I agree wholeheartedly. We've lost our soul as a nation!!! You cannot abandon God and still retain all the blessings, joys and happiness that only Biblical Christianity can bring.

With our American culture going to ruin at an alarming rate, it is not surprising to discover that the churches are also being ruined. False Bible versions are ruining the churches doctrinally. Fake radio preachers, apostate New York Times bestselling authors, and charlatan television ministers are ruining the churches (because the churches have forsaken God's Word). We are all impressionable as humans beings. If we see some bozo on television, we're going to see what he's got to say. If we see a recent bestseller by some apostate pastor like Max Lucado or Joel Osteen, we're going to buy their books out of curiosity. If we hear John MacArthur or Paul Washer on religious radio, we're going to hear them out. I know I do, because I want to see and hear what others are being subjected to.

Truly, we're all being inoculated from the real thing, that is, the Word of God (which I believe in this generation to be the inspired King James Bible) by all the substitutes for the Holy Bible. NOTHING CAN SUBSTITUTE FOR THE WORD OF GOD IN OUR DAILY LIFE. We must be careful as Christians not to get so caught up in Christian this and Christian that, that we neglect to spend quality time in the Word of God. I stopped listening to music in my vehicle. I only listen to the Word of God, with few exceptions. The fear of God can only come from familiarizing our self with the warnings, teachings and promises of the Word of God. Christians are warned against defrauding one another, because judgment day is coming (1st Thessalonians 4:6).

Another example is found in James 4:11-12, “Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?” We are admonished against condemning others, gossiping, and speaking evil of them, for God is the only Judge. When I read this warning in the Bible, I fear speaking evil of anyone, for I am the biggest sinner I know (because I know myself better than anyone). If you don't feel like you are the biggest sinner you know, then you have not been walking very close to the Lord.

Isaiah saw the Lord in His holiness and exclaimed, Isaiah 6:3 and 5, “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. ... Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” Oh, my friend, the more that you SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (John 5:39) and see Jesus Christ, the more you will be compelled to say with the prophet Isaiah, “WOE IS ME! FOR I AM UNDONE!” Or perhaps with Peter you will say in Luke 5:8, “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” Fearing the Lord begins with realizing that you are a wretched sinner in God's holy eyes, for the wrong things that you have done in life. There is a penalty for those sins (Romans 6:23). The unsaved world do not believe that a holy God will cast them into a burning Hell for all eternity to pay for their own sins. Yet, that is exactly what 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9 warns!!! If they understood that judgment day is coming, and the Holy Bible is 100% true, they would be horrified. The problem is that the world is too preoccupied, blinded by riches, pleasures and the cares of this life, which blinds them from the light of the Gospel (2nd Corinthians 4:3-4; Luke 8:14; John 3:20).

Thank God for the sin-cleansing blood of Jesus that washes away our sins. You don't have to fear going to Hell friend. God has promised to save them that believe the Gospel (1st Corinthians 1:21). 1st Corinthians 1:18 and 21, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. ... For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” END

“Nobody can love God who doesn't love sinners!”
(a quote by Dr. Jack Hyles classic MP3 sermon, “The Happiest Man” (happiest is the man who will not impute sin to others!)
