They Consider Not In Their Hearts That I Remember All Their Wickedness
By David J. Stewart | February 2015
Hosea 7:2, “And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.”
King David in the Old Testament saw people committing wickedness, which convinced him that they did not fear God. Psalms 36:1, “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.” God-fearing born-again Christians today feel exactly as did David, discerning that pro-abortionists, homosexual activists and Hollywood have no fear of God before their eyes. They consider not in their hearts that God remembereth all their wickedness!!!
The official slogan adopted by the Las Vegas, Nevada, Chamber of Commerce is: “What HAPPENS in Vegas STAYS in Vegas!” There never was a bigger lie told my friend. As our text verse says in Hosea 7:2... “AND THEY CONSIDER NOT IN THEIR HEARTS THAT I REMEMBER ALL THEIR WICKEDNESS”!!! What HAPPENS in Vegas is RECORDED in Heaven! Nothing escapes the eyes of God. Hebrews 4:13, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”
For the unsaved who die in their sins without faith in Jesus Christ, the Bible warns in Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
For the saved who die in the Lord, the Bible teaches in 2nd Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
God Knows All Things, Even the Number of Hairs On Our Head
Did you know that God doesn't have to try to remember anything. God is omniscient, He KNOWS everything. God has a perfect memory because He is omniscient (all-knowing). That is absolutely amazing! The Bible says that God has named each and every star. God calls them by their unique names. Psalms 147:4, “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” The last time I checked, there were at least 70,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the known universe. [1] Other scientists have estimated the number of stars much higher. [2] That's more stars than grains of sand on all the beaches on the earth. Yet just one grain of sand contains more atoms than all the stars in the known universe! God is truly terwonderful!
Considering that God is able to keep tabs on over 70 sextillion stars in the known universe, I'm sure He still has the ability to remember the way we treat each other, our sins, our thoughts, our words, our attitudes, our good works and every tiny detail of our life . . .
Psalms 139:1-6, “O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”
God knows everything about you, and me and everyone! There are an estimated 7 billion people living upon the earth. God keeps track of each person, even numbering the very hairs on our head (Matthew 10:30).
God Remembers All the Wickedness
We are living in a Godless generation! I read a Scripture in the Old Testament today in Psalms 43:1, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.” The United States is an ungodly nation. God hears the cry of the blood from the 55,000,000 murdered babies! God hears the cry of the millions of victims of drunk drivers! God hears the cry of the homeless who are neglected and forgotten about! God hears the cry of the fatherless and the poor! God hears the cry of the blood from 1,455,590 murdered Iraqis! God heard the cry of Sodom, and He hears the cry from America! GOD WILL REMEMBER THE WICKEDNESS ON JUDGMENT DAY!!!
Do you think God has gone on vacation? Do you think God Who heard the cry of Abel's blood crying out from the ground in Genesis 4:10, has missed the cry of those 55,000,000 aborted innocent babies, whose blood cries out from bio-waste dumpsters all across America? Not a chance in the universe! That's what our text verse from Hosea 7:2 is teaching us... GOD DOES REMEMBER OUR WICKEDNESS!!!
The Sin of Being At Ease On Zion
The Devil always tries to get us to focus on the moment, without thinking about the future consequences of our actions. In sharp contrast, God always tries to get us to think about what will happen if we don't obey Him. God warned Adam and Eve that they would die if they ate the forbidden fruit; but Satan told Eve she and her husband would immediately become “as gods” (Genesis 3:5-7). This earthly life is short, and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).
Dr. McGee rightly states, “We're a nation of Biblical ignoramuses! We do not know the Word of God today in this land!” (Pastor J. Vernon McGee, THRU-THE-BIBLE, commentary from Hosea 4:1-2). Amos, Hosea and Micah were contemporary minor prophets of the major prophet, Isaiah! Their ministries were to the north kingdom, warning the Jews to repent or face God's judgment. Hosea was to the northern kingdom, what Jeremiah was to the southern kingdom a century later. Amos was a preacher to the wealthy elite, who warned the rich rulers that they were “AT EASE ON ZION” (Amos 6:1). The Devil is working round-the-clock to steal, kill and destroy our churches, families and nation, while the average pastor is at ease on Zion. What does it mean to be, “at ease in Zion?”
In the eighth century before Christ, the prophet Amos was preaching to the wealthy elite of ancient Israel—to people of property, to people of reputation, to people of substance, to people of power. Amos preached during a time of unprecedented prosperity in Israel. The book of Amos speaks of beds of ivory, fine wines, couches, luxurious ointments, vacation homes, summer palaces, et cetera. The elite of Israel were secure (so they thought) in their comforts and prosperity, thinking they must be pleasing in God's eyes. They looked at their business associates. They looked at their friends. They looked at their social acquaintances. They were all wealthy. They were all comfortable. They were all, as Amos 6:1 says, “at ease in Zion.”
Sadly, this is where our big churches are at today, at ease in Zion, spoiled and complacent. I honestly don't blame most people for not wanting to attend churches these days, What's the use if they don't preach? Apostate churches associate God's blessings with the size of their attendance and how many friends they have. John 12:43, “For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” I would rather tell the truth and have God as my only friend, than to kowtow and dip-my-sails in compromise, going along to get along to please men. God sees all that we say, all that we think, and all that we do, it's all being recorded in Heaven.
Too many people take life very casually, as if nothing really matters. Hell and Heaven are real my friend. Spending eternity burning in Hell is a very serious matter, yet the average fundamental preacher doesn't preach on Hell every two years! Something is wrong! Do our churches really believe in a literal, burning, everlasting, Hell??? When's the last time that you heard a preacher pleading, hollering and crying from the pulpit for lost sinners to receive the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ before it was too late, and they plunged into the fires of Hell forever damned?
The Devil has deceived the world into believing that there is no literal place called Hell. Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-Day Adventists teach that Hell is only figurative, not a literal place. That is totally unbiblical. The Bible has more to say about Hell than it does Heaven! We read about the Lake of Fire, brimstone and the bottomless pit (if you have a King James Bible, which is the only reliable Bible today). The world is going to Hell while the churches are at ease on Zion.
“Nobody can
love God who doesn't love sinners!”

Happiest Man” (happiest is the man who will not impute sin to others!)
If you believe what the Bible teaches, attend a church that teaches the Bible!
