The Holy Spirit Convicts The World Of Sin, Righteousness And Judgment

John 16:7-11, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”
The Holy Spirit of God works in the soul of all mankind, convicting the
world of SIN, RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUDGMENT. What does this mean? The Holy
Spirit convicts the world of:
- SIN = WE ARE ALL SINNERS!
- RIGHTEOUSNESS = JESUS IS THE SAVIOR OF ALL MEN!
- JUDGMENT = CHRIST-REJECTERS GO TO HELL FOREVER TO BE PUNISHED!
It's all quite simple. We are all hell-deserving sinners; but thanks be to God Who loves us and sent His only begotten Son into the world to pay the full price for our sins.
1st Timothy 4:10, “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach.”
Jesus died on the cross and shed His precious blood for ALL MANKIND. The price has been paid for everyone! Whether you are saved or unsaved, Jesus is your Savior. But you cannot be saved until you receive Him as your Savior . . .
John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
One of my favorite and most amazing Scriptures in the Bible is found in 2nd Peter 2:1, which tells us that Jesus BOUGHT the false prophets who deny Him . . .
2nd Peter 2:1, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
Amen! God is a good and merciful God. No matter how wicked you may be, no matter what horrible things you have done, or how many times you have done them... GOD WANTS TO FORGIVE YOU, AND HAS PROMISED TO FORGIVE IF YOU'LL COME AS AN ADMITTED SINNER BY WAY OF THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST. Jesus paid it all, shedding His precious blood for our many sins!!! . . .
Ephesians 2:13, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.”
The gospel message is three things; namely, Christ DIED, He was BURIED and He was RESURRECTED from the dead after three days . . .
1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
Anyone who receives the gospel as full-payment for their sins is saved immediately, irrevocably and permanently for all eternity! Have you responded to the convicting power of the Holy Spirit by obeying the gospel message, that is, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you? The unpardonable sin is blaspheming (i.e., speaking evil of, rejecting or ignoring) the Holy Spirit concerning Jesus Christ. When God's Spirit deals with your heart, I highly suggest that you listen and respond obediently, because you may NOT get a second chance.
Time would fail me to tell you about all the lost sinners who've heard the gospel message, not knowing that it would be their very last, and they went to the Lake of Fire forever and ever in their wicked unbelief. Friend, unbelief is the only sin that can keep you out of Heaven; therefore, it is the only sin that you must literally forsake to be saved. Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
